UTSA Alumni Association

Making a difference for students, alumni,
our community and the university.

The Alumni Association supports a variety of programs to promote higher education, touching as many individuals as possible.

Alumni Scholarship Program - The UTSA Alumni Association annually awards more than 60 scholarships to UTSA scholars. Students are eligible for scholarships when they are accepted into UTSA during their senior year of high school all the way through graduate school. Applicants must apply online. Only completed applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.

Mr. & Ms. UTSA – For more than 20 years, the UTSA Alumni Association has promoted the Mr. & Ms. UTSA contest. The UTSA Alumni Association sponsors the contest as part of the UTSA homecoming festivities. The Homecoming Court is made up of students competing for the titles of Mr. and Ms. UTSA, which recognize students who embody the UTSA spirit, excel academically, are involved in campus life and community service, and support giving to the university.

Alumnus of the Year - The UTSA Alumni Association established the Alumnus of the Year award in 1980 to recognize UTSA alumni who have gained unique distinction through their accomplishments and to focus attention on their achievements.

Distinguished Service Award - The UTSA Alumni Association established the Distinguished Service Award in 1997 to recognize and honor those individuals who have made significant contributions to the UTSA Alumni Association and to UTSA.

Diploma Dash 5K City Championship Run - For the past 26 years, the annual Diploma Dash 5K City Championship Run has helped raise additional capital for UTSA Alumni Association scholarships. The race has grown each year with more than 1,940 participants last year. The race, held on campus, is open to alumni, students, faculty, staff and the San Antonio community.
